Pakora Recipe

Pakoras (vegetable fritters) are a tradional Indian recipe and commonly eaten throughout the country as a snack.  Really easy to make and great with a curry!   

Pakora

Ingredients  :
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 potato
  • 1 red pepper
  • 250g Chickpea flour
  • 200ml Milk
  • 3 Chillies (medium to hot heat)
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 100ml Water
  • 500ml Rapeseed Oil
  • Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Easy to make : 

1) De-skin and chop and onion and dice the chillies.
2) Peel the potato and boil in hot water for 10 minutes until tender. Once cooled, chop into chunks.
2) Add the potato, chillies and onion into a mixing bowl and add all the other ingredients (except the oil) and mix together.
3) In a frying pan, heat the oil and then place a desert spoon full of the batter mix into the oil and fry until crisp and golden brown.
4) Repeat step 3 for the remaining mixture.

Serve alongside a curry or with some Mango or Mint Chutney dips.
