(Capsicum annuum) Origin : Jamaica Heat Rating : HOT Scoville Heat Rating : 120000 This is a very compact and densely foliated plant which produces an abundance of red, thin-skinned hot peppers. It is a type of squash pepper. It matures from green to a vibrant yellow. The interesting shape and spicy taste make this a chilli which is good to eat fresh, pickled, or as a garnish. The pods are larger than a Scotch Bonnet about 5cm width at the top and 4cm long. They are reputed to have a slight pineapple flavour.
