Chilli Apple Fizz

The days are sunny so what better after a hard days work than to relax in the evening with a glass of sparkling apple juice with a chilli twist.

The key is to give it a hint of chilli as not to overpower the other flavours.  We find it best to infuse the chillies first.
This recipe is a family favourite we hope you enjoy it too!   
It is non-alcoholic.  (We have also made it with scrumpy and it is pretty good too!)

(makes 10 glasses...)

Ingredients  :
  • 2 lemons
  • 200ml lime juice
  • 1 litre sparkling apple juice
  • 200ml soda water / club soda
  • 2 limes
  • 2 kiwi fruits
  • 1 birdseye chilli. 
  • garden mint leaves
  • 10 sugar cubes
Easy peasy to make ...

1) Rub the sugar cubes against the lemons to remove some of the zest and then put one in each glass. 
2) Half the lemons and squeeze the juice into a jug.
3) Chop the chilli in half and de-seed. Infuse the chilli and mint leaves in the lemon juice for 1 hour and then drain (remove both chilli and mint leaves).
4) Add the lime juice, apple juice and soda water and give it a good stir.
5) Peel Slice the kiwi fruits. Slice the limes and add both to the jug.
6) Leave to chill and then pour over the sugar cubes and serve.

**Picture shows 2 cubes but only use 1 cube per glass.  Phil drank the last batch before i could take a picture!  doh!!
